Arriving somewhat late, but it wasted time in the Indian Islands to catch fish and did not catch any, so lost this opportunity.

2 He was killed by the Indians in 1626 while in command of Fort Orange, along with 3 other men, one being Tymen Bouwensz. There being no Commander, Pieter Barentsen, who usually was sent upwards and along the coast with the sloops, assumed the Command of Fort Orange by order of Director Minuit.
3Sebastiaen Jansen Crol, or as he assigned himself, Bastiaen Jansz Krol, was born at Harlingen, in Friesland, in 1595. His mother's name was Annetjen Egberts. He married in 1615, at Amsterdam, Annetjen Stoffel's daughter, from Eesens, aged 21. The date of his death is not known.Documents Relating to New Netherland 1624-1626, in the Henry E. 4The translation is as follows: "On leaving there, the course lies for the west wind, and having got it, to the Bermudas and so along the channel in a short time towards Patria. [If the Mackerel was in the same vicinity as the Ship New Netherland upon it's arrival in May 1624, the Mackerel would be sailing out from New Netherland in June 1624, not from Amsterdam in June 1624; which is obviously a misinterpretation by many authors as the Mackerel sailed out again from Amsterdam in April, 1625. The Mackerel originally sailed with the first ship Eendracht to New Netherland in January, 1624.]
