Object: Pumpkin - Cucurbita sp.

Cucurbita species seeds were found in the archeological digs by Joel Grossman.    Pumpkin and other varieties of squash were grown by the Indigenous peoples, called 'Indians' by the Dutch.   These were often part of the 3 sisters planting of corn, beans, and some form of squash.
