Translation

The director general and first councilor of New Netherland hereby permit Augustijn Bouljou, French captain on the frigate St. Piere, to come up before this city of Amsterdam in New Netherland with the ship under his command and his accompanying prize; and after showing his commission to allow him to take on such necessities as he shall need for the advancement of his voyage. In the meanwhile, let this serve as an assurance of free entrance and departure. Done at Amsterdam in New Netherland. The 3rd of June 1657.
