Translation

The foregoing petition having been read, after due deliberation thereon, the following decision was made:

All inhabitants of New Netherland are at one time bound and obligated by oath to be loyal and obedient to their noble High Mightinesses, the lords States General, together with the honorable lords directors of the chartered West India Company, their director general and councilors already appointed or afterwards appointed. The director general and councilors find it inexpedient for now to change or revise it. Ady ut supra.
