In council appeared Adriaen Dircksen, tavern keeper, Martin Cregier, Jan Jansz Schepmoes, Jan Snediger, Philip Geraerdsz, Seargeant Daniel Litsco, Gerrit Douman, Hendrick Smith, Cornelis Volckersz, Abraham Pietersz, G[ e ]orge Rapalje and Pieter Andriesen, all tavern keepers and inhabitants of this city of New Amsterdam, who register their names and make themselves known to the honorable general and council, in accordance with the ordinance issued on the 10th of March on the subject of tavern keepers, promising on their manly troth to observe said ordinance in all its parts as far as it lies in their power. This 16th day of March anno 1648, In New Amsterdam in New Netherland.
