Description
Marriage often, but not always, created joint ownership in property. Depending upon the law at the time, and the will or testament of the owners, one of them dies, the other will continue to own the property through inheritance.
Example:
If John Smith owns property and Jane Doe marries him, Jane owns the property with John. After John dies, Jane continues to own the property.
