Honorable, Pious, Beloved and Trusted Sir:

Whereas we have decided to grant and concede several points to the commissioners and directors of the City's colony which the director-general and council of New Netherland shall make known to you, and which the aforesaid commissioners have transmitted by way of the ship, de Purmerlander Kerck, to the aforesaid director-general and council, together with orders concerning [ the points ]; therefore, we have decided, in order that the aforesaid commissioners may immediately enjoy the conditions granted to them, to order you hereby to remain silent and not to concern yourself with anything previously included in your instructions, before you have received the orders from the director-general and council. You will thus govern yourself accordingly to the service of the Company.

Herewith we commend you to God's protection and remain.
