Ancestor # 1,660,049. Jacob de Lang. Jacob de Lang, merchant of Bremster, Holland, built a house next door to Martin Cregier’s on Heere Straet, but for unknown reasons never left Holland. Perhaps de Lang built it as an investment, as he was a savvy businessman. An inventory of his wardrobe allows us to imagine him striding about Bremster, bedecked in a black broadcloth suit with colored waistcoat and silver buttons, wrapped in a silk-lined grosgrain cloak, his lovely wife, Maria Verveelen, at his side, the epitome of fashion and sparkling with diamonds.
