1657 - Lt. Alexander Hynossa sails from the Netherlands aboard the fated Prince Maurice which is shipwreck on Long Island.  He is approximately 25 years old.

1660 - Alexander d'Hinojossa becomes governor of New Amstel after death of Jacob Alrichs. Stuyvesant asks Swedish nation to supply soldiers in his war against the Indians at Esopus (Kingston, NY). Swedes refuse, insisting on their historic non-aggression policy with the Indians

He had a brewery constructed inside Fort Casimir, with a 700 pound copper brewing kettle confiscated from the Swedes at Fort Christina.   Beer was one of the most important exports as it was traded for tobacco and enslaved Africans.

1663 Visited the Netherlands.

1664 the colony became English.
